I think I can say most assuredly that the Amber Alert GPS 2G unit will finally be delivered in the first week of August (yes…that’s 2009!). There is so much that goes on behind the scenes that we wish we could share with you, but just know that hours and hours and hours are being spent each day working on the new unit and coordinating it’s launch. The delays we have had so far are not frivolous…there is so much that goes into a new generation launch that “things come up”. I hate to you use this as an excuse, but, well, it’s our excuse!

One thing that we decided to add, that we hadn’t planned on before, is a Destination Alert. What this will do is allow you to go to a map and, with your mouse, draw a circle around the destination on the map. When your child reaches that destination address, you will receive a text notifying you of the arrival to that destination by your child. Isn’t that amazing? We think so. You will love it.

Also, the monitor feature is phenomenal. If you want to check in on a tough situation that your child may be in, activate the monitor feature and you can hear VERY CLEARLY what is going on at the location of your child. This is a vast improvement over the first generation AAGPS unit.
