New Site Design For AmberAlertGPS.com

Published: 5:20 PM May 26th, 2009

We, at amberalertgps.com, are so proud to announce that our new site design is up and running as of this weekend. We have redesigned our logo and our color scheme to match our packaging for the new child locator 2G unit coming out in August, 2009. It looks great, if you ask me. We are still in the process of tweaking the site to make it as user-friendly as possible as well as include as much educational information for you, our visitors.

You’ll see that the basic info is still there, but formatted differently. The product pages have the same setup, but with different page colors. We’d like to thank Mark Hurst for coming up with a new theme and packaging option for the new 2G child locator unit, which will blow away our old version 1 unit and anything the competition has to offer. We feel that this new design represents what Amber Alert GPS is all about…protecting our most valuable asset…our kids.

Amber Alert GPS values the freedom that children enjoy and wants to give parents the tools to facilitate that carefree expression of joy and exhilaration that only kids can create!

Visit us at www.amberalertgps.com.

By the way, we should have photos of our new accessories within the week. We have some fun stuff for the kids and for mom and dad!

I think the child locator is a great idea.In fact i might get one myself. But what about those parents who cant aford it.Or dont have credit cards?Alot of ppl cant even pay the bills.$10.00 a month doesnt seem like much, but it is for those that go to bed hungry because all of there money goes on the house.

I think this a great idea but whath a bouts thoeparents whos factor close & their jobs went to mexcio& they cant get a job here that pay as good as the first job and a lot of pepole cant pay $10.00 a month thats a lot when pepole & children go to bed hungry because all there money go to the house &taxswe want our children safe at all times but this to much money to payit should begivento the children free because the president says no child should left behind thank you mary

Hi Lorianne

You are absolutely right - this device is not yet affordable for everyone.
We are currently working on a 2nd one that would be cheaper and provide the
same level of security. At Amber Alert GPS, we have 12 employees and not
one of us are paid. We are doing all we can to get this product out to the
general public. Once this happens and we can sell large quantities, the
price will come down.

Thanks for your input.

On that same note what about the parents that do see a value in this and can afford the technology. I'm willing to pay 2-400$ to insure my child's safety, this is very important to me. Even if I need to cut back in other areas to make sure I can afford this.

Up until now the only real way to do with was to purchase commercial GPS equipment and live with the expensive monthly fees, 75-100$ and expensive equipment as well. This equipment would also not be child friendly, large, bulky, etc.

Then again I have a child that is 10 years old and has little to no verbal communication. I'm not just a parent looking to track my son on his way home from school. I need to know where my son is for his own safety incase he is no longer with us. He doesnt have the ability to tell someone he is lost and to call his Dad and mom.

I see this as an absolute must in my circumstance..

great job guys I can wait to see the final product.

I Love the new design. But the comments about the Amber Alert system on this page and the additional information put a different opinion on the subject. Love all the creative and very useful information on how to keep a child safe! Thanks Julia!

@Jason: I'm with you. I also have a non-verbal son (8 with autism), and will make room in my budget for it. He is very clever and resourceful, and he desperately wants more independence than is safely possible. Frankly, I'm pretty upset that the ship date slipped from May. It sounds like AAGPS changed subcontractors because they got better volume pricing, and they jumped rather than honoring the early 2G orders. Not the best business decision, IMHO.

Hi Ken

We are pleased to have partnered with Autism Today and other autism
associations. We hear from a lot of parents who have special challenges
with their children - and we are glad that we have a product that will help
them.

We are also disappointed that we had to move the delivery date, but quality
is our number 1 goal. Our factory in China was not producing a perfect
unit, so therefore, we changed manufacturers. Our current manufacturer is
out of Taiwan. They are experienced with GSM and GPS technologies and knows
what it takes to pass stringent tests like FCC, PTCRB, and environmental
tests. We would never send out an inferior product - especially when it
comes to child safety. This is why we have experienced the delay. We have
contacted those customers who were expecting their device in May and have
offered them a full refund or 3 months of free service with an accessory.
We are trying to do all we can to accommodate those who have ordered while
we achieve the highest quality possible.

Thanks for your comments.

@Julia: The message that was sent out to those with early pre-orders didn't provide this level of information. Thank you. I apologize if my uncomfortable anticipation is showing inappropriately.

join with samsung, nokia or sony. they will all buy you immediately.

As a parent of an autistic 13 year old boy who wanders, I was thrilled to see this product. However, the wristband does not look big enough for him. He is almost the size of an adult. Are there other accessory options? Are there plans to join with silver alert and make this available for adults who are struggling with dementia? Thank you.

Great questions, Chris. The wristband has been fitted on most children. It
is 10 inches long. Please measure your child's wrist and see if that works.
Let us know. Yes, we are providing this product for the elderly. We will
be launching the website www.silveralertgps.com very soon. We hope to
provide a solution for seniors who want to still live an active life. We
will be announcing this soon.

Thanks, Julia Howard
